- ब्रिटिश अधिकारियों और मिशनरियों ने भाषाविज्ञान और नस्लविज्ञान के माध्यम से ‘आर्य-द्रविड़’ विभाजन गढ़ा, और दक्षिण भारतीय भाषाओं को संस्कृत से कृत्रिम रूप से अलग करके एक अलग पहचान दी।
- चर्च-मिशनरियों ने द्रविड़ता को ईसाई धर्म से जोड़कर तमिल समाज को सनातन परंपरा से तोड़ने का अभियान चलाया, जिसमें रॉबर्ट कॉल्डवेल की भूमिका केंद्रीय रही।
- तमिलनाडु की राजनीति (DMK, AIADMK) इसी वैचारिक पृष्ठभूमि से संचालित होती रही है, जहां ब्राह्मण, संस्कृत और सनातन विरोध चर्च-संलग्न एजेंडे से गहराई से जुड़ा रहा है।
- यह बौद्धिक युद्ध आज भी जारी है, जो भारत की राष्ट्रीय चेतना, धार्मिक अस्मिता और सामाजिक समरसता के लिए एक गंभीर चुनौती है — जिससे निपटना अब राष्ट्रीय प्राथमिकता होनी चाहिए।
