Professor Ramesh Rao’s well-written and passionate article articulates the predicament faced by Hindus across the world. In this article, Professor Rao rightly argues that engaging in endless diplomacy with organizations that sponsor unethical and unscrupulous academic activists is pointless. He mildly chides Hindu organizations for engaging in endless diplomacy.
To expand on Professor Rao’s point on endless diplomacy, one can infer that these organizations engage in endless diplomacy because they genuinely believe their diplomatic approach will eventually succeed. Sadly, however, the fleeting and inconsequential concessions these organizations view as successes are turning out to be mirages that provide false comfort. Is it time for Hindu organizations to do some introspection? Is it time to assess whether granting a free pass to institutions that sponsor and provide free rein to unscrupulous academic activists can ever be a winning strategy?
